Geboren in Tire als Sohn von Ahmed Efendi aus Güzelhisar, erhielt er seine erste Ausbildung von seinem Vater und den Medresen von Tire. Danach stieg er in der Klasse der Ulema auf, indem er die Ränge eines Müderris, Molla und Mekke erreichte.
