Kemeraltı Spiritual Route

A short walk through the narrow streets of Kemeraltı brings you to the tomb of Cemaleddin Efendi, resting place of a noted Ottoman scholar.

A few steps east leads to the tomb of Ahmed Efendi — a spiritual pause amid the bustle of the bazaar.

Very close by is the grave of Abdullah Efendi, one of the older spiritual sites within Kemeraltı.

Walk northeast to reach the tomb of Benlerlizade Hafız Ahmet Talat Efendi, a hidden stop among historic mansions.

Slightly farther north is the Esad Efendi Mosque and tomb — one of Kemeraltı's well-known places of worship, showcasing traditional Ottoman architecture with its seki, fountain, and courtyard.

Leaving the bazaar, head north toward Bornova. The tomb of Ayşi - Mehmed Efendi sits in a quiet neighbourhood.

Head west. Bedreddin Efendi marks the shrine of one of old İzmir's respected Sufi figures.
